About the author…

Claire (Mac) McGuire, Claire Lamberti, Claire Burson, Mac McGuire… what do all these names have in common? They’re all mine. Or were, at one point or another. Why do I have so many names? That’s a long story for another time, but welcome to my website.

I realized this year that I don’t have any singular place to put all of the things I do. I also realized that if I did that, it might help me understand how much I actually accomplish… instead of it being a nebulous idea of “I’m not doing enough.” So here we are! I felt like Flavors and Formulas described me better than my 57 name variations, so that’s what I went with.

This won’t be like most “professional” websites in that I’ll be putting things from all the projects I’m involved with here. Science? Engineering? Cooking? Activism? Baking? Editing? Research? Recipe development? Writing? All here. More so for me than anyone else.

One of my favorite quotes I found recently is from Dr. Thema Bryant, as quoting something her mother, Rev. Dr. Cecelia Williams-Bryant, said to her:
“Single-gifted people will rarely understand multi-gifted people. To them you will always look scattered.”

I have wanted to start social media for a long time, but something that holds me back from going all-in is the fact that if I pick one thing, a “niche,” then that’s all I would be doing… and that feels like death.
